LIAM PHILLIPS
GAWLER Central enjoyed the
biggest win of the Barossa, Light
& Gawler Football Association
senior colts round, beating Kapunda
11.16 (82) to 2.4 (16) despite
not kicking a goal in the last
quarter.
Jarell Lampard, Beau Thomas
and Jaiden Dennie-Richards kicked
three goals each for the Tigers, who
went into three-quarter time up
11.11 (77) to 1.3 (9) before kicking
just five behinds in the final frame.
Trent Reynolds kicked both goals
for the Bombers, with teammates
Riley Menzel and Cayse Dew also
playing well.
Boyd Warden led the way for
South Gawler, kicking three goals
in the Lions’ 13.16 (94) to 5.3 (33)
win over Freeling.
Seven other Lions got their
name on the scoresheet, but Marco
Yandle, Thomas Allan and Jakob
Schmidtke all made the best players
for the home side despite not getting
in on the goals.
Barossa District fought back from
an early deficit to beat Willaston 8.8
(56) to 7.10 (52) as Nathan Dyer
kicked a bag of five for the Bulldogs
in a dominant display up forward.
The Donnybrooks started hot to
lead 2.3 (15) to 4.4 (28) at the first
break, which was reduced to a fivepoint
margin at halftime, before the
game was tied heading into the last
quarter.
Angus Arthur and Brody Arias
both nabbed a pair of goals for the
visitors to be named Willaston’s
best along with Dylan Jones and
Wil Tagg.
Gun forwards Malakye Kohlhagen
and Sam Noack went head-tohead
in a great forward’s battle in
Angaston, and while Tanunda’s Noack
won the individual battle with
six goals, Kohlhagen’s five was
enough to give the Panthers a 14.7
(91) to 9.7 (61) win.
Aiden Linke, Kynan Harvey and
Sebastian Heintze-Unger also found
their way into the home side’s best
players on a big day for the club.
In the junior colts, Tanunda
showed off the quality it has coming
through with a 15.7 (97) to 4.4 (28)
win as Magpies Ryan Lane-Ellis
(five goals) and Ariel Rothe (four
goals) dominated up forward.
Kaleb White ended up kicking
three of Angaston’s four goals, but
the Panthers could only manage one
goal in the second half as Tanunda
ran away with it.
Barossa District made a mess of
Willaston as 10 Bulldogs kicked at
least one goal in the 16.15 (111) to
zero whitewash.
Two goals each from William Evans,
Oscar King and Aidan Schubert
helped propel Gawler Central to a
7.8 (50) to 3.6 (24) win over Kapunda.
Jack Sleep, Jack Ryan and Samuel
Holding nabbed the Bombers’
goals all in the first half to head into
the long break still in the contest,
trailing 3.2 (20) to 4.7 (31), but Kapunda
failed to slot a major for the
remainder of the game.
South Gawler and Freeling were
locked at 4.4 (28) to 4.4 (28) at halftime,
before the Lions exploded for
seven goals in the third quarter to
run away with a comfortable 11.9
(75) to 5.8 (38) win.
Beau Ryan kicked four for the
Lions, while Connor Hurst (three)
and Joseph Giannito (two) were the
other multiple goal kickers for the
home side.
