Dublin continues roaring start to Para District season
2 min read

ANGLE Vale is facing a massive chase this Saturday in its Para District Cricket Association two-day grade one fixture against Dublin after the visitors put up 9/258 in its 70 overs, including another big score from ex-South Gawler batsman Brodie Barker.
Barker scored 63 runs after debuting for Dublin in round one with a score of 106, and while brother Riley fell for 23, number-four Lyndon Woods collected 80 to push the total past 200.
Angle Vale workhorse Justin Carman will be sore after bowling 27 overs, and while his figured of 2/72 are nothing spectacular, he was asked to carry a giant workload.
North Pines opener Ali-Reza Rezai top scored for his side with 93 of its 265 total, with a solid helping hand from Dion Lucas (79).
Anthony Seccafien bowled terrifically, taking 5/72 with seven maidens from 20 overs, and despite teammate Nathan Warren (4/103) taking four wickets as well, he and the rest of the North Pines bowlers were smacked around so much Virginia reached its big score in just 55 overs.
In the day’s remaining 15 overs, North Pines claimed four wickets to leave Virginia at 4/61 and needing a massive tail-end showing to salvage a result.
North Eastern Knights was the only grade one side to not hit 200, but its total of 193 is still a defendable figure with Parafield Gardens set to pick up its chase on Saturday at 2/53.
Tim Goodchild (69) and Cameron Hobson-Bessell (41) did the bulk of the damage, while Luke King (3/46) was Parafield Gardens’ best with the ball.
In grade two, Eyre Royals’ Cameron Mansueto put on a bowling clinic as he took 4/9 with four maidens from eight near-perfect overs to help dismiss Salisbury West for 134.
Central United’s Brett Woodward was just as good, taking 4/21 in 13 overs against Craigmore to leave his side in the driver’s seat on day two.
In grade three, Parafield Gardens will need some luck, or some weather, to avoid an outright loss after being bowled out for 63, and then allowing North Eastern Knight Lee Mills to put up 110 not-out as his side reached 5/190 in the day’s remaining 36 overs.
Trinity Old Scholars’ only side to play this week went down to North Pines by 90 runs in a one day fixture with the hosts piling on 266 runs in 39 overs, courtesy of 30 fours and 11 sixes.
