Drive through coffee for Willaston
1 min read

A MOBILE coffee business wants to set up shop at the former site of the Neptune Petrol Station, at Willaston.

A development application has been lodged with Gawler Council by Bohemaina Beans, for the operation of a mobile coffee business at 153 Main North Road.

According to the application, it is the intention of the business to lease a portion of the site from its landowner who will continue to reside in the existing house to the south.

The disused Neptune Petrol Station building will remain, while a two-lane drive way will be established nearby, to cater for up to six stationary vehicles.

The Bohemaina Beans van is proposed to serve drive-through coffee at the site from 5.30am to 1.30pm.

“The access points in and out of the site are well removed from the intersection of Main North Road and Kestral Road (approximately 60 and 90 metres) and have been designed so as to conform with the southern flow of traffic along Main North Road,” the application states.

“The proposal is able to accommodate the type and level of traffic likely to be generated by the proposal with sufficient area provided for on-site manoeuvring.

“The applicant plans to remove dead vegetation and dispose of the litter upon the land with future plans of refurbishing the building.

“In addition, the applicant will replace the existing fence with a 1.8-metre high Colorbond fence.

“The proposal will be an improvement to that of the existing situation and will increase the level of amenity within the area.”

The development application is currently out for public consultation as a category three form of development, with any representations needing to be submitted by the end of Tuesday, November 10.

The proposal will then be put to Gawler’s Assessment Panel for a decision.
