WILLASTON claimed its first win of the Barossa & Light A1-reserves cricket season by beating Lyndoch by six wickets on Saturday.

The Donnybrooks had secured first innings points last week and were chasing an outright victory on the weekend, yet the Dockers refused to give in.

Lyndoch made 5/253 before declaring, as it aimed to pinch an unlikely reverse outright result.

John Owen smashed his way to 76 before he was caught by Zac East, while Shaun Goulding made 50 off 28 deliveries.

The Donnybrooks made 5/83 in their 18 overs, with Luke Dunn top-scoring with 44.

Matt Robinson took 3/44 for the Dockers.

Meanwhile, Light Pass defeated Angaston by nine runs.

Lighties were all out for 278 after day one, setting the Blues a tough task.

Angaston lost Hakon Young for just seven, but Tom Jackaman (52) and Luke Doecke (28) steadied the ship with a 68-run partnership.

Liam Peel (43) and Leigh Stephens (45) were also terrific, but the Blues couldn’t find the crucial runs to snatch the win.

In A4, South Gawler lost to Eudunda-Robertstown by 16 runs.
