Dogs down Double Blues

CENTRAL District snapped a five-game
losing streak to defeat Sturt by 10 points in
SANFL action at Unley on Saturday.
The Bulldogs got off to the perfect start,
with Nick Lange kicking a goal in the opening
two minutes.
They controlled the start of the match but
were inaccurate in front of goal, and Ash Johnson
made them hurt to kick Sturt’s first.
Despite their dominance, the Dogs only led
by two points at the quarter-time break.
Centrals found their groove as Aiden Grace,
Marcus Barreau and Jackson Kelly piled on
consecutive goals to extend the lead, but Sturt
hit back.
Two goals from Josh Patullo and Ash Johnson’s
second ensured Sturt was back in the
game.
Connor McLean goaled on half-time and the
Bulldogs led by eight points.
The third quarter was all about the Bulldogs.
Kyle Presbury and Chris Olsson started the
scoring, and Grace’s second had the Dogs up
by 28 points at the last change.
The last quarter was a shootout as Sturt
booted seven goals to come home strong, but
Centrals had four of their own to hold on for
their second win of the season.
Jarrod Schiller had 26 touches, while brother
Travis had 22.
