Disappointing day two at Trinity
1 min read

TRINITY Old Scholars wasted a golden opportunity on Saturday when it failed to chase down Prince Alfred Old Collegians’ paltry total of 125.
Trinity lost wickets early and often, with only Joshua Southwell (16 not-out) and Thomas Clements (15) entering double figures before the side was removed for 104, losing by 21 runs.
With plenty of daylight remaining, PAOC went back in to bat for another 66 overs, running up a score of 6/199 behind Nicholas Clayfield’s 104, while Jarryd Furnell was the only TOSer to take multiple wickets with figures of 2/42.
In A3, Trinity had a dirty second day to lose outright by an innings and 147 runs at Golden Grove.
The hosts put up 9/278 batting first, bowled the TOSers out for 92, before sending the visitors back in for the follow-on and taking another 10 wickets in 20 overs behind Thomas Neadley’s (7/8 with five maidens from 10 overs) effort.
In LO 4, Trinity got back on the winner’s list with a five-wicket win at home against Kilburn.
Liam Beazleigh was more than solid with the ball, taking 2/18 in nine overs as Kilburn put up a respectable 40-over score of 7/165.
A well-rounded TOSer effort saw five Trinity players reach double figures, led by opener Michael Rutherford (55) and Grady Hudd (34), to hit the target in the 34th over.
The result sees Trinity one spot out of finals with a round to play, trailing by only percentage, with a chance to be the only TOSer side in postseason play.
