SHADE sail upgrades at Jo Gapper Park in Hillbank have been completed to help improve sun safety for children on the playground.

The more than $45,000 project has enhanced both safety and the look of the park and Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty is delighted with the new look.

“Jo Gapper Park is a fantastic space in Hillbank for our community to enjoy and the shade sails over the playground are a welcome addition,” he said.

“Shady play spaces that are protected from exposure to the sun provide cooler, more inviting spaces for children to play.

“These upgrades contribute to our public spaces, such as parks and playgrounds, being safe and accessible for our community.”

This upgrade comes as more improvements were completed to Fremont Park’s basketball court earlier this month.
