Roseworthy breaks record
1 min read

ROSEWORTHY has become Viterra’s fourth site to break a daily record this harvest.

On November 26, 17,156 tonnes was delivered to the site, setting a new daily record for Viterra Roseworthy.

The previous daily record was set during the 2016/17 harvest when 17,054 was delivered.

Viterra operations manager central region Jack Tansley paid tribute to staff at the site for their hard work, and to growers for their support.

“I commend our employees who have done an excellent job at managing these big volume days safely and efficiently, and I thank growers and carriers for their support onsite,” he said.

“It’s great to see that we’ve had a record broken, we’ve been very focused on working closely with growers and meeting their needs.

“We have worked on extending hours so they can continue delivering into our sites until late when they finish harvesting for the day.”

Mr Tansley said the site was working hard to ensure that growers are turned around as quickly as possible while maintaining quality standards so South Australia grain still had access to domestic and export markets.

“We have multiple buyers in our system who are purchasing new season grain and with our new warehouse to cash service growers can sell and transfer their warehoused grain immediately without needing to contact the buyer,” he said.

“We’ve received great feedback from growers so far this harvest and we’ll continue to work with growers to provide a service to them that is valuable and efficient.”

So far this Harvest, 3.5 million tonnes have been received at Viterra sites around South Australia, with 1.48 received in the Central region.
