Community feedback on Willaston traffic open
1 min read

PLANS for a safer, more efficient and reliable road network in Willaston are being shared for community feedback.

Gawler Council has commenced Stage 2 community consultation on its draft Willaston Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Plan and it will be undertaken between November 13 and December 4, 2020.

The draft plan seeks to improve the Willaston road network by identifying road safety issues and proposing prioritised measures for speed management, walking and cycling infrastructure, parking, and managing other traffic and transport issues.

Council’s community consultation includes an open house ‘Have Your Say’ session at the Willaston Football Club on November 25, from 7pm to 9pm.

“More than 240 community members responded to the initial community consultation conducted earlier this year demonstrating the importance of this plan’s development,” Gawler Mayor Karen Redman said.

“Council values the community’s feedback and encourages them to participate in the final round of consultation.

“We are pleased to have released the draft Willaston LATM Plan which provides prioritised measures that will address the community’s traffic and road safety concerns.

“The plan provides a strategic approach for managing current and future traffic and pedestrian movements on the local Willaston road network, and also considers Gawler’s two per cent per annum growth rate, which is approximately twice the state average.

“This forward-planning will help ensure we can provide the infrastructure needed to achieve Council’s vision of being a liveable community.”

Community members can share feedback on the draft LATM Plan by visiting council’s community engagement website.
