ANGLE Vale handed Para District Cricket Association grade one minor premiers Salisbury West its worst loss of the season on Saturday as it took 15 wickets for 104 runs.
Defending 7/191, Angle Vale’s Justin Carman produced staggering figures of 8/25 with four maidens in his 13 overs to dismiss the visitors for 53 before enforcing the follow-on.
With 31 overs remaining, Angle Vale attacked an outright win that would have seen it steal the minor premiership, but it wasn’t to be as Salisbury West limped to stumps at 5/51.
The finals fixtures this weekend will see Dublin head to Salisbury West for a Saturday-Sunday two-day match, while Virginia will head to Angle Vale.
In grade two, One Tree Hill failed to take advantage of an opportunity to leapfrog Smithfield into the fourth-and-final postseason spot, going down Central United after being bowled out for 77.
The result handed Central United the minor premiership and has it poised for a favourable matchup with Smithfield this weekend.
In grade three, North Eastern Knights finished off a terrific home-and-away season with a four-wicket win over second-placed Enfield United to make it 12 wins from 14 tries.
In grade four, a ton from Dublin’s Matt Hartwell (101) helped his side cap off its minor premiership with a dominant outright win against fellow finalists Enfield United – taking the match by an innings and 49 runs.
