Bank branch to remain closed
1 min read

A REOPENING date is still undetermined for the Gawler branch of the People’s Choice Credit Union, which was “temporarily” closed in April due to COVID-19 and associated changes to banking habits.
The Gawler branch was one of five closed in South Australia and one of 11 closed nationally, on April 9.
“Branch transactions across People’s Choice had halved while calls to our contact centre had doubled, so we needed to reallocate our staff to support our contact centre and our other branches that remained open,” a People’s Choice Credit Union spokesperson said.
“Unfortunately, we need to keep our Gawler branch closed for a bit longer while our staff from here and other branches support our members who’ve been financially affected by COVID-19.
“We appreciate that the temporary closure of our branch is an inconvenience to residents of the Gawler region and we sincerely apologise for this.
“While we can’t yet confirm a reopening date, we are carefully considering when we can reopen and will do so as soon as we’re able.”
Members have been encouraged to try or use digital banking alternatives, or visit the Munno Para branch.
