GAWLER Advanced Personnel Management (APM) engagement consultant Skye Luckman has been nominated for the Ricoh Australia Customer Service award for her ongoing commitment to the local Gawler and Barossa community.
APM is one of Australia’s largest providers of employment services, including supporting those who have a disability.
As part of the 2019 South Australian Community Service Awards, the Ricoh award recognises individuals who provide customer service excellence, best practice and innovative thinking in customer service.
Ms Luckman said she was humbled to be recognised.
“It was a nice surprise, but also a shock,” she said.
“I love that my role is very community driven.
“I love educating and supporting people who are struggling and leading them in the right direction.
“I think outside of the square and am able to build a personal connection with the customers rather than not getting to know them.”
Along with working in conjunction with the local Youth Council, Ms Luckman also runs an employment program to support youth in the community and help them find employment prospects.
After 13 years in the employment services industry, she is still enjoying her work.
“I am really passionate about supporting youth in our community and educating them on the transition into the world of employment,” Ms Luckman said.
“As a single mum and juggling full-time work, it can be challenging at times.
“I am also really lucky that my employer is very understanding of my situation.
“My advice to other single mums juggling work would be to take one day at a time.”
Nominations for the Community Achievement Awards close next Wednesday, July 24.
