Art festival officially opened

THE opening of the Arts on the Plains Festival exhibitions had the Gawler Civic Centre packed last Friday night.

Gawler Mayor Karen Redman officially opened the displays, running throughout November at the centre.

First prize winner Rhonda Fowles was recognised by Gawler Council for her piece ‘Alex’.

Second prize went to Rosalie Salter fore her ‘Rainy Day in Lucca’ triptych artwork and was donated by Member for Light Tony Piccolo.

The Gawler Art Society and the Gawler Community Gallery is showing the ‘Art in the Right Place’ exhibition in the Institute.

Tineta Ellis’ exhibition ‘Here’s Looking at You’ is concurrently on show in the Business Hub at the Civic Centre.

Downstairs in the cafe area Texplorers have a wonderful display of textile art.
