300 more homes: Angle Vale set to grow further following $120 million expansion
2 min read

THE expansion of an existing housing development in Angle Vale is set to  row the town by more than 300 homes.

Land developers Lanser announced on Thursday its Miravale development, located between Curtis and Frisby roads, would increase by 321 allotments.

Lanser has invested $120 million in the expansion, bringing its total investment in the town to $308 million.

The news comes two months after Angle Vale was announced as the site of the State Government’s new northern “super school”, which will cater for 1675 students.

The soon-to-be completed Northern Connector project is also expected to increase accessibility to the town.

Lanser managing director Jason Green said demand for land in Angle Vale is increasing.

“We identified the potential for the revitalisation of the north with the (Northern) Connector project, and we’ve seen an uplift in sales across the region as the project nears completion,” he said.

“However, with the announcement of the super school, enquiry at Miravale has exceeded expectation.

“This is an advantageous time to build in Angle Vale – we are really excited about the future of the town and with so much investment in infrastructure and education on the table it remains a solid proposition for homebuyers.”

Plans for Angle Vale northern super school will be released for public consultation early next year, nearly three years after the project was first touted by the then-Labor State Government.

The $885 million Northern Connector is expected to be finished before the end of the year, and will create a non-stop link between Angle Vale and Regency Road, Croydon.

Playford mayor Glenn Docherty welcomed further growth in Angle Vale, and said road upgrades and stormwater upgrades for the town were included in the council’s 2019/20 Annual Business Plan.

“Council welcomes orderly and appropriate development that meets the needs of our community,” he said.

“The State Government’s 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide has seen continued and ongoing growth in parts of our community, particularly Angle Vale.

“As a result, council has worked with the State Government and developers to create the Growth Areas Deed that will provide funding for the infrastructure that is expected by our communities – such as roads, stormwater and social infrastructure.”
