A PORTION of Redbanks Road was closed yesterday as emergency services responded to a car accident at Kangaroo Flat.

Country Fire Service and Metropolitan Fire Service crews, police and paramedics were called to the crash site, near Nottle Road, at around 10am.

Redbanks Road, between Nottle Road and Kangaroo Flat road was closed in both directions to motorists until 11am, with police turning around vehicles or directing them down Fairle and Leak roads to avoid the collision.

According to a police spokesperson, it is believed a car lost control while travelling towards Mallala and hit a group of trees by the side of the road.

The female driver was not seriously injured.

As a result of that crash, a second minor accident occurred in the opposite lane between two other vehicles.
